How to Know if a Demon is Following You

How to Know if a Demon is Following YouIt can be disconcerting to think that an evil spirit might be following you wanting to harm you, however, if you’re a Christian and are filled with the Holy Spirit, you have absolutely nothing to worry about.

When Jesus Christ rose from the dead he conquered both sin and death and took away Satan’s powers.

O death, where is your victory?
O death, where is your sting?”
For sin is the sting that results in death, and the law gives sin its power. But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ. (1 Corinthians 15:55-57)

Bad People Go To Heaven, Good People Go To Hell

Do Good People Go To HeavenMost people consider themselves to be a good person and that by being a good person they’ll go to heaven. But here’s a simple question: If good people go to heaven, for what reason did Jesus die on the cross? If salvation and eternal life require only that a person be good, it means Jesus died for no reason.

But what if I told you you’re not a good person? What if I told you no one is a good person and only bad people go to heaven?

Living Dinosaurs – God – and the Day of Judgment

Living DinosaursIf a living dinosaur were found today, one that looks unchanged from the fossil record, it would be the most spectacular discovery of modern history. People are fascinated by dinosaurs. Thousands of children’s books have been written about them and people pay good money to visit museums containing displays of dinosaur bones. Paleontologists love dinosaurs so much they make carriers of them.

Short Term Youth Mission Trips

Missionary Preparation

Your home town USAWhy would a high school student, college student or adult ask for thousands of dollars of donations from friends and family to go on a short term foreign mission trip when they have no experience sharing the gospel with others?

I have seen first hand, individuals travel half way around the world on a mission trip, and then wasting the money spent to send them there because they were to shy to share the gospel with strangers. I have also seen where a young lady went on a mission trip, not to share the gospel, but so that she could be near the young man who was leading the youth mission trip.

Treasures in Heaven

“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. (Matthew 6:19-21)

Treasures in HeavenThe 1970 Ford Mustang Mach 1 is one of the coolest cars I’ve ever seen. And the exciting thing is that they are affordable. In a world where sports cars such as Ferraris and Lamborghinis cost so much money that only the super rich can afford to buy one, the muscle cars of the 60’s and 70’s are just as cool looking as any Italian sports car but often cost no more than the average new automobile at your local car dealership.

Searching Ebay recently I happened to find a red Mach 1 located only 2 ½ hours from where I live. To buy it, all I would have needed to do was to have gone to my bank, gotten a car loan, had my wife drive with me down there, given the man the money, and then had my wife follow me home in my very own 1970 Ford Mustang Mach 1.

But God said not to store up treasures on Earth. He said I should, instead, store up treasures in heaven.

What Does the Bible Say About Judging People

Man pointing his finger at viewer. What does the bible say about judging people? Well consider this, I live in an apartment that is literally across the street from a small church. My front door faces the church’s front door almost exactly. The other day I was thinking about how disappointed I was in their congregation because in all the time I’ve lived in this apartment no one from that church has ever walked across the street and invited me to their service. They don’t know me and therefore don’t know whether or not I’m saved or spiritually lost. As I pondered these thoughts I concluded they were not doing a good job as a church or as Christians.

Biblical Dating

Holding HandsFigure out first who you won’t date before deciding who you will date.

Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? What harmony is there between Christ and Belial? What does a believer have in common with an unbeliever? What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people.” (2 Corinthians 6:14-16)

They say love is blind, and I say they’re right. Once you start falling for someone there’s a strong tendency to begin overlooking their flaws, sometimes even very big flaws.
Long before you go out on a first date; consider establishing a dating criteria by figuring out what attributes a person must already possess in order for you to date them.

Love God with All Your Heart

Love God with all your heartHow important is God to you? Jesus said that if we love anything or anyone more than Him, we aren’t worthy of Him, (Matthew chapter 10).

Sometimes spiritual things are difficult to understand so let’s bring this issue down to something more easily relatable such as a comparison to your spouse and children. If a man loved his work more than his wife, would she know it? Yes. Towards her, he would be distant and would only ever talk about his work. He would rarely listen and would seldom be interested in anything she had to say.

How to Get Closer to God

Church OrganNearly everyone wants, to some degree or another, to get closer to God. But how?

Most people wrongly assume that to get closer to God they need to figure out what actions are needed. Once they feel they’ve got that figured out, they then conclude that they need only to perform those actions to accomplish their goal.

Bible Study by Ace ArmstrongGoing to church doesn’t make you a Christian, but not going to church makes you a non Christian.

Yes, it’s a bold statement and I recognize that there are many nuances and circumstances that could be discussed. However, consider this statement: Eating vegetables doesn’t make you a vegetarian but not eating at all makes you dead.

Does God Want Me to Be Single

Does God Want Me to Be Alone?

Woman alone in restaurant.Does God want me to be single? This is a great question and I’m excited to tell you that it has a very simple answer. Do you want to be single? Do you want to be alone? If the answer is no, then God doesn’t intend for you to be single the rest of your life.

Think about it this way. If you desire to be in a relationship, it was God who placed that desire within you.

So why then, are you still single?

Chapters of the Bible

Here is a free excel spreadsheet containing all the books and chapters of the bible.

And here’s why I created it:

For several years I was fully convinced that I had read the entire Bible. One day however, I realized that given my habit of reading a chapter here and a chapter there, skipping around from New Testament to Old, I had no real proof that I had, in fact, read the whole bible. There could have easily been some verses, chapters or even an Old Testament book or two that I hadn’t read. I created this spreadsheet and started filling it out each time I finished a chapter.

It has all the books of the Bible listed on the left hand column and each book’s chapter numbers written across the rows. When I read a chapter, I highlight the number in yellow on the spreadsheet. When the whole spreadsheet is highlighted, I know I’ve read the entire Bible. This allows me to skip around in the Bible wherever I want or am lead, and I can keep track of what I have and haven’t read each year.

I also place my starting date at the top which allows me to keep track of how long it takes me to go through the Bible each time.
